Hi. This will be the Deviant Art page for Free Furry Comic Day. It's an online event set for Jan. 5th, 2007. This will be a non-profit anthology of short furry comic stories. It will be made available FREE through various comic book stores and online dealers. Supplies will be limited, so make sure you get your order in on time, but there will be no preordering. It is meant to open people to the world of furry fandom, and to give furry artists an opportunity to have their work shown. is meant to be a challenge to furry artists to create a short furry comic that would be featured in an anthology meant for furries(or anthropomorphic fans). This is being done as an effort to introduce outsiders to the great but usually overlooked world of furry comics, whether it be comedy, action, sci-fi, fantasy, or just slice-of-life. It's also meant to give furry artists and comics creators a chance to express themselves, and show off their talent to a wider and more general audience. We are accepting submissions based on the various genres available to furry comics, and the kind of detail that each artist puts into their creation using their own distinct style. FFCD is first and foremost an "general readers" publication. Meaning, all material accepted in the final publication will be intended for younger readers as well as older ones. Although the average furry comic is usually for "mature readers", FFCD is trying to keep this open for the general public. If this all proves successful, we hope to continue it as a regular annual event.

The deadline for the 2007 issue is Dec. 8, 2006. Each entry will be up to 5 pages long. The predicted length of this issue will be about 32-40 pages long.

This being our first year, we're opening up this event mainly to vendors who specialize in selling or distributing anthropomorphic comics and graphic novels. . In order to obtain your own copy, you must make an online order on Jan. 5th, 2007 at any of the following official dealers: 20th Century Books, Comic Collection, Darkmatter Studio, Kitsune Comics, Purrsia Press, Rabbit Valley, Second Ed Mailorder, Strange Adventures. We're planning on adding more before the end of 2006.

Each dealer will mark this as a free order, although those making the order will have to cover S&H. Additional charges may be included for orders made outside the U.S. Dealers are also allowed to offer the FFCD issue as a free item with any purchase made on Jan. 5, 2007, meaning you could purchase something from their catalog and recieve a single copy of the FFCD issue as a free bonus item. All those without internet access may send in an order through the mail which has to be postmarked on Jan. 5, 2007. The order must include S&H. Postal rates will vary depending on the preferences of the dealer. Be sure to contact each dealer directly about how much they will charge for shipping. All orders will be delivered 2-4 weeks after Jan. 5, 2007 depending on where they are being shipped to.
